Sea Freight

Cabotage is navigation in coastal waters between two ports in the same country. There are two types of cabotage: bigger one, which refers to shipping between ports of different seas, for instance the Baltic Sea and the Black Sea; and smaller one, which concerns shipping between ports of one sea or two adjacent seas, for instance, between the Black Sea and the Sea of Azov.

Sea freight covers the highest volume of the worldwide trade. Container maritime transport is especially popular since a standard 20-foot or 40-foot shipping container can accommodate any type of cargo, be it automobiles or buttons.

Russian maritime borders are as long as 39 000 kilometers, which amounts to two-thirds of the entire length of Russia’s national frontiers. Cabotage transportation can become a perfect alternative to rail freight and in some cases will be a single optimal choice.

The Benefits of Sea Freight

  1. Economy:
Sea freight cost price is relatively low.
  2. Universality:
Sea transportation allows delivering any type of cargoes without exceptions — solid, liquid, bulk, gaseous, and also heavy lift and oversized cargoes.
  3. Convenience:
Loading/unloading work on sea transport is significantly facilitated by means of using a unified method applied in the majority of transport junctions.

Pitfalls

Sea transportation requires consideration of a number of factors; it is important to know how to go through all the formalities, to prepare the bill of lading. In order to avoid unnecessary risks, it is better to enlist the support of a professional company that specializes in cargo transportation.

What we offer

The Liner Company provides cabotage transportation services. We deliver cargo to any ports (Korsakov, Magadan, Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky) including Northern ones (Anadyr). We also can map out a route of cabotage transportation specifically for your type of cargo.
